David Jones founded in 1838 is the oldest continuously operating department store in the world still trading under its original name has unveiled the details of a multi-million dollar redevelopment of its historic Elizabeth St store within a proposal submitted to the City of Sydney.
Sections of the heritage-listed building, will undergo demolition, including the current interiors on levels six through eight. These will make way for new retail uses, a restaurant and a champagne bar, along with three new lifts
The works will create a new benchmark for Australian retail, delivering a world class, exclusive shopping experience for customers while embracing the heritage of the extraordinary building.
John R Keith were engaged to complete the redevelopment of David Jones City QE-2 at 106 – 118 Castlereagh Street Sydney.
These works include upgrade of Hydraulic on Basement, Lower Ground, Ground Floor, Ground Floor Mezzanine, Level and Levels 1-12.
The scope of work covered include supply, delivery, installation, test, commission, maintenance and warranty of hydraulic services for the development outlined above.
